At PRIGO Grammar School, education is a pathway to discovery and personal growth. We are pleased to share that we have applied for candidacy for the International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme (IB MYP) and are currently awaiting recognition as an IB Candidate School. This marks an important milestone in our commitment to providing an exceptional, internationally minded education that prepares students for the opportunities and challenges of the modern world.
The MYP provides a dynamic framework for students aged 11 to 16, combining academic rigour with real-world relevance. It encourages critical thinking, intercultural understanding, and holistic development across eight subject groups, fostering key skills such as communication, collaboration, and self-management.
Once authorized, the MYP will be delivered at PRIGO alongside the Czech national curriculum, ensuring that students meet local educational requirements while benefiting from the internationally recognised IB philosophy. This integrated approach will enable our students to experience the best of both worlds—a strong foundation in their national education system complemented by the global perspective and inquiry-based learning that the IB promotes.
The MYP will also serve as a preparatory stage for the Diploma Programme (DP), which we are proud to offer at PRIGO. By introducing the MYP, we aim to create a seamless academic pathway that equips students with the knowledge, skills, and attitudes needed for success in the DP and in their future endeavours.
As we await recognition as an IB Candidate School, we remain committed to preparing for the implementation of the MYP and to fostering an environment in which students grow into confident, reflective, and active learners—ready to engage thoughtfully and responsibly with their communities and the wider world.
